Recently, exciting news came from the China Capability Building Alliance for Myopia Prevention and Control (CAMP): our hospital has been successfully designated as a member-level unit of the alliance, thanks to its solid professional expertise, comprehensive service system, and outstanding industry influence. This marks national-level authoritative recognition of our work in childhood and adolescent myopia prevention and control—an honor that affirms the hospital's efforts in this field.

The China Capability Building Alliance for Myopia Prevention and Control (CAMP) is a prestigious academic organization established by the National Clinical Research Center for Ocular Diseases. It aims to promote the widespread adoption and innovation of appropriate technologies for myopia prevention and control by integrating ophthalmic medical resources, research capabilities, and clinical expertise nationwide. The alliance maintains extremely stringent admission criteria, covering 11 core evaluation metrics across multiple dimensions—including hospital grade and accreditation, allocation of senior optometry specialists, quality of talent team development, and the outreach capacity of clinical departments.
Dongguan Humen Aier Eye Hospital has established a comprehensive working system for myopia prevention and control
The hospital operates a dedicated pediatric and adolescent myopia prevention and control clinic, providing personalized management plans for children and teenagers. The clinic is equipped with internationally advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, including corneal topographers, IOLMaster optical biometers, MRT full-retina refractive detectors, and other high-end instruments. The hospital offers a wide range of myopia prevention and control options, including orthokeratology lenses, defocus frame glasses, and low-concentration atropine eye drops.

Myopia prevention and control efforts extend beyond in-hospital care to schools and communities
As one of the designated hospitals for adolescent myopia prevention and control screening by the Dongguan Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Humen Aier Eye Hospital has made multiple visits to schools and kindergartens across several towns in the Binhai area to conduct science education and screening programs. The hospital creates an individual eye health record for every student examined and dynamically monitors each student's visual development. In various communities, the hospital provides residents with basic ophthalmic examinations and consultations, further advancing the dissemination and popularization of eye health knowledge. As of December 2026, the hospital has conducted vision screenings and established records for over 170,000 students across towns including Humen, Chang'an, Houjie, and Shatian, and has served more than 40,000 community residents.

The Optometry and Pediatric Ophthalmology Department of Dongguan Humen Aier Eye Hospital is one of the hospital's key clinical departments. Led by Dr. Zhong Hui, Head of the department, together with Professor Chen Jingchang from the Strabismus and Amblyopia Department of Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-sen University, and several other experienced ophthalmologists, the department has built a highly experienced medical team. It features a personalized diagnosis and treatment model encompassing "prevention, examination, and control" of myopia, providing life-cycle eye health management for patients of all ages.
