Guard Your Bright Eyes, Enjoy a Wonderful Summer! The "Hundreds‑Thousands‑Myriads · One Summer in Dongguan" Eye‑Health Experience Camp Has Successfully Concluded

DATE:2026-09-06   HITS:152

To advance public‑welfare science popularization and education on adolescent eye health and help families gain a scientific understanding of children’s eye conditions, the "Hundreds‑Thousands‑Myriads · One Summer in Dongguan" Eye‑Health Experience Camp was successfully held at Humen Aier Eye Hospital on August 30. Guided by the Humen Health Bureau, co‑organized by the Humen Working Committee on Children and Youth and the Humen Federation of Trade Unions, the event was hosted by Humen Aier Eye Hospital.

I. Win Gifts Through Game Stamps, Safeguard Bright Eyes

At the start of the event, children took an active part in eye‑protection challenge games. All the onsite fun games were designed around eye‑health science knowledge, enabling kids to reinforce eye‑care tips while playing and collect stamps for exquisite gifts, achieving education through entertainment.

Meanwhile, an orderly queue formed at the adjacent eye‑health screening area. Our medical staff patiently performed uncorrected visual acuity tests and provided eye‑health consultations for the children. They answered parents’ questions on‑site and reminded them of key points for vision prevention and control, so that eye‑health problems could be detected and intervened at an early stage.

II. Professional Lectures Clear Misconceptions, Scientific Prevention Accompanies Growth

Dr. Jia Huiyu, an expert from Humen Aier Eye Hospital, then delivered a special popular‑science lecture. Focusing on prominent eye‑health issues among teenagers, she gave detailed explanations centering on juvenile myopia prevention and control as well as children’s dry‑eye protection. Drawing on abundant real‑world clinical cases, she analyzed major contributing factors behind the high incidence of myopia among children today, and illustrated professional prevention approaches including scientific spectacle fitting, vision management, regular follow‑up visits and outdoor eye care. She also corrected common eye‑care misconceptions held by parents.

III. Hand‑craft Activities Bring Joy, Eye‑care Concepts Take Root in Mind

Following the lecture, a DIY hand‑craft experience session was arranged. It allowed children to relax their eyes and enjoy eye‑protection fun away from electronic devices, experiencing an immersive offline science‑popularization atmosphere.

Blending entertainment with science outreach, this event effectively motivated teenagers to take initiative in eye protection and helped parents establish scientific concepts for myopia prevention and control. Children acquired practical eye‑care knowledge in a relaxed and pleasant environment. Moving forward, Humen Aier Eye Hospital will keep leveraging its professional medical strengths to safeguard teenagers’ vision health with concrete actions, and contribute to the further implementation of the Hundred‑Thousand‑Million Project.
